New "Articles" section

The articles section has been separated from the forums to form its own (testing it right now).

The new section accepts a richer formatting syntax, can embed images and accepts files as attachments.

Feel free to experiment with it by clicking on "Publish a new document" in the Articles section. Keep in mind that documents don't go live until approved by an editor, and that you can edit it multiple times while working on it as a draft.
Cool :)

I've had a quick play...I like it.
That is a waaaay better setup.
Oh that's great! Will there be additions to the functionality soon such as rating buttons or any enhancements to the organization of the archives?
Don't know about ratings, maybe just each article can have a dedicated comment thread in the articles section in the forum so people can post revisions/info, etc?
This sounds nice especially :

As I remember cplusplus.com got hacked or or the database went tits up or somthing like that and as a result the site has been rebuilt, that is a archive of the old site (possibly picking up the current CSS files).
I just wanted to show that the "New" articles section isn't so "New".
btw, what will happen to old articles section? ( http://www.cplusplus.com/forum/articles/ )

We already have that. I'm suggesting something new to make it easier to find the most useful articles more quickly. There are many articles about similar subjects, some of which are useful and some of which that are not.

Also I wish that I could sort/search on only articles. The search box seems to search all forums mixing in lots of useless threads with the articles that are found. Sometimes I am looking for specific things and the search tool really doesn't allow me to narrow down the criteria for searching.

By the way, it looks like we are back to the old articles section anyway.
