I like on some forums how you can see what users were on the forums in the past 15 minutes. And also show other info like number of users, posts, topics, newest member, all the members who logged in today. Just an idea.
Another idea. I think you should give somebody responsible some administrative abilities (like a moderator) to delete or move threads if necessary.

The site is administered. Have you never noticed the miss postings in the Articles Forum magically disappear?..if you want to draw the admins attention to a post, click the Report this topic button at the bottom of the thread. It may, however, be nice to have some sort of reason why you disagree with the posting added to the reporting.
Ah ok I only said that because there's two threads in UNIX/Linux that were "moved" but they're still there taking up space. K I'll do that.

One more:

I think every new poster here doesn't put tages around their code. Maybe something that says: Use [code] for code., somewhere on the page where you post a new topic.
It will never happen. Over at DaniWeb they bend over backwards to get people to use [code] tags, but people like Narue and AD spend a lot of time editing posts just to add tags anyway.

The number one rule with software is: Users Don't Read Anything.
If you forget that rule, your software has a bug.

Alas.

A polite nod in the right direction for new posters who post more than a couple of times, or for truly unruly code a petition that it be edited until it is readable before spending more time on it, generally seems to work for me.
Question:

How come the text input box thing doesn't show the whitespace when you copy and paste code? It aligns everything to the left. Is there a way to not do that maybe? Then copy and pasted code without code tags would be a bit more readable.

In addition, how about an FAQ for the beginners forum. Codeguru.com has one I believe. I know we have the "Console Closing Down" but maybe we could add some others to a big FAQ thread. Just another thought.
