Why are there no tutorials on YouTube for learning DirectX...
..There is only one guy and I cannot stand him.
Is this because once you learn DirectX its pretty much off to the races and you have better things to do than make a DirectX tutorial? Or is it because its hard and people give up..Maybe its somewhere in the middle between those two statements..
I personally really don't like video tutorials for programming at all (and yet I've tried them myself) although they are really useful in other subjects, so even if helios or myself have a problem with them maybe it's just that we can't find any good ones for programming.
If you've not tried it yet I quite like directxtutorial.com, their is a couple of mistakes on some of the src's but aside from that I think it explains everything quite well.
They do have only so many tutorials for free but it's plenty to get a good solid start and then you can choose to either pay a small amount to unlock all the lessons or just look elsewhere once you've got a good start.

As does Stoustrup for example.
My dislike for technical video and audio which can be represented in text is that I have to listen to them whole 15 minutes instead of spending 3 minutes reading the same thing. Also there is problem with quality. I rarely see people who write script, do several takes until they get it right, spend some time editing video.

That's a good point, really any old fool can throw a video together with very little effort and if their's something they don't like about it they can't be arsed to fix it anyway most of the time (unless it is a slightly better than armature editor), where as with text sources it's quite easy to fix any mistakes when re-reading your work.
Also the fact that a lot of videos are kind of done on the fly and a lot errors can be made unless it's really well rehearsed so then everyone ends up learning wrong or copying error/bug ridden code. At least text based you have a lot more time to get things right too.
