Let's try XOR

I reminds me a bit of Wikipedia links.

IIRC, twicker is still unsure whether he likes opaque links. Use sparingly. Or I fear the power may disappear.

Heh that reminds me of when I was playing a MUD and people were spamming colored crap everywhere, so it got removed, so I just used the literal ASCII codes (like [30m) and put color in anyway. It was amusing until I got yelled at by the admin >_>

I've tried to mess a bit with this way of creating links and seems to work only within cplusplus.com so it should be safe
from
http://www.cplusplus.com/forum/lounge/1433/page2.html#msg10354 :
URLs in forums are a delicate issue. I think that showing the full url instead of a title helps prevent certain types of abuses.
Anyway, just the URL is much easier than ███████████ so I don't think this would be used much...
[[//www.google.com|EDIT: it works also with external websites]]

Maybe we should remove this topic to prevent spammers from getting this stuff...

Hmm...
[[http://www.google.com/|Take some venom and accept
That you won't see Nazareth
The rainbow lead you home
Warrior sent to Milky Way
UFO shooting gamma rays
A riot of destruction]]
Seems like it breaks pretty easily.

Oh, that was you. I thought some evil censorship monkey had taken over administration of this site to avoid nuclear war. My bad.

firedraco is right, this trick should be known only by trusted members
Sep 4, 2009 at 10:48pm UTC
Why? What possible danger is there of using it?

Malicious links can send you to webpage you would never expect...
