I thought penguins use flippers to swim, so a one legged one should swim just fine?
I met a guy who had lived in Antarctica once. He said penguins were dumb as f**k and fall over on the ice quite often.

On the surface they use their feet for propulsion, under the surface I think they use their feet to aid steering.
