The only official Linux distro supported right now is Ubuntu 12.04. I'm currently working on getting it to build on Mint 16 (Ubuntu 13.10).
EDIT:
Got it built and running. If you're on Mint 16 or Ubuntu > 13.10, these directions should get you going:

Atom is still in beta, so definitely not ready to replace your favorite text editor. But it looks very promising so far. Seems to be just as good as Sublime, with some extra nice features (dat git integration!).
And, it's free and open source :)
