ive done puppy, mint, ubuntu, and windows. linux mint has this software that it comes with that can burn isos to flashdrives. its actually meant for that. there is also unetbootin
Thanks for the help. It seems like all of the options are Live, meaning the OS runs off an image. Is there any way to get the actual OS on the thumb drive?
Does the debian netinst install to the thumb drive? It seems like it is set up just to be something to boot into to run the install process.
I have only used thumbdrives to install Linux distros(Ubuntu,Kali Linux, Linux mint) but I do know a tool for windows that makes a live USB and you can save files
