And how do you know that toad isn't gay/bisexual or asexual?

Hey, I am a very proud demisexual, you are also forgetting tons of other g/*sexual/p 's

@devon
Congrats, how old are you if you don't mind my prying. (Estimate 20) I have never been in a romantic relationship before, thought it was because I was a programmer, but turns out...
@Albatross
Fair enough, i'll rephrase! "You'll want sexual company some day".

Neither have I. I can't do the romance thing, it makes me feel weird lol. I just think its silly. I'll probably change my mind years from now, though. I'm just trying to enjoy life while I'm still young, I guess.

I think that is where our similarities stop. While I would not mind a romantic relationship, I firstly find the "casual" dating thing stupid and secondly I have yet to find someone I am able to emotionally latch onto (Please read previous post and Google: "define demisexual").

A good relationship should not stop this, it should actually enhance your enjoyment of life.

Thanks Albatross.
Lose your virginity then tell me you still want to be single =p

Or you could go the friends with benefits route, but that can be risky for so many reasons...

Wow. There are some non-adults on this forum.
@Script Coder
I'm pansexual with demisexual tendencies, and you're right. I forgot to put that in. Along with pansexual.

@toad1359
Yes there are, and in the pre-adult group there's a wide spectrum of maturity levels.

How so?

How does pansexuality differ from bisexuality? Is the difference just that the former makes the lack of an ethnic preference explicit? Personally I find women from most or all ethnicities attractive (for various reasons), though I tend to be drawn to white women the most.

One person can -- and often does -- develop unrequited feelings for the other. I think "friends with benefits" can only really work with people who don't particularly like each other. Otherwise, one person just ends up getting hurt.
Pansexuality differs from bisexuality in that it explicitly includes transgender and genderqueer individuals. Bisexuality may or may not.

Regarding her being a feminist: have you ever had her swap a tire on a car or change the oil herself? ;)

Does she know the difference between a flathead and a philip's head? lol

Seriously though...
Oh nice! Congrats devon. This time tomorrow I'll have met this amazing girl I've known for three years but have never seen in person. This visit will break what was standing between our relationship. Her plane comes in tomorrow. SO EXCITE BIKE.
I'm perfectly fine without a girlfriend, I don't know why everyone says it's so amazing...

I know you said you were joking, but let's pretend you weren't for the sake of conversation, and also because I can imagine there are people who genuinely hold this opinion.

But it is amazing! It's magic! My girlfriend and I have been together for a year and a half now, and every time we meet is as exciting as the first time. We both know it'll probably not last forever, as chances are high that I'll move to USA next year, but we both enjoy it as much as we can despite (or perhaps because of) that. When you are in a relationship, even the most boring things, e.g. dishwashing, can become surprisingly interesting. I believe the factor that makes the experience so intoxicating is that you are given an opportunity to practice taking care of another entity. You can most certainly enjoy watching a movie by yourself, but it's more fun to do it with another person lying in your arms (especially when you've already seen the movie alone first and can therefore focus on other things). I've also tried (several times) to teach her programming, but she doesn't seem to like it much. My most recent attempt was a C#/XNA game programming class on Coursera that we took together. Of course, I did most of the work, but she ended up learning stuff like variables, conditionals, loops and functions, too. Lately, we don't see each other very frequently, as she lives in a city and I live in a nearby town, but when we do (usually once or twice a week) we spend the whole day together. I often call her my little biscuit and she often calls me her little lion :)

Assuming I can even talk to women.

Again, I know you said you were joking...

It's not that hard, really. There are exceptions, of course, but if you're good looking enough (and this is something you can work on) to pass the first visual check, most of the times it's enough to just make her feel good about herself and do it in a funny way. Here's an example from my life as an undergraduate student: There were these three girls you would always see together. As usual, one of them was pretty and the rest, well, not so much. As expected, I wanted to taste the pretty one, so one day I approached her and said "Will you go out for coffee with me if I can guess your name in three tries?", to which she replied "Yeah, whatever, go ahead...". Of course, I didn't. I wanted to hook her from the very beginning and I could tell that this wasn't going to work. Instead, I learned her name, and a couple of days later I sat behind her in a class, grabbed a page from my notebook and began writing "I've been watching you lately and I noticed a couple of interesting things about you. You look like an Amazing girl, so I'm pretty sure there's at least one A in your name. [etc...] So, based on my observations, I'd say there's a good chance your name is [her name].". I passed it to her, and after a couple of seconds I could hear her chuckling and breathing more heavily than before. After she finished reading it, she turned around (and I could see her face was all red) and said nervously "Are you a wizard or something?". Now, that was an epic win. Regardless - I don't remember why - I decided that going out with her wasn't a good idea after all.

You'll want company of the opposite sex one day, lol.

For me it's the other way around. I know a time will come when I'll become one with the Source and then I'll be alone again, because the concept of individuality will cease to exist. But while I'm still under the illusion that I'm separate from them, cute ladies will always be welcome to share beautiful moments with me :)

Touche Cheraphy.
Hey tks guys is going well but we had to part for xmas so theres been pining, thing is I just came out of one relationship, but why avoid afraid stress and argumentsand possible heartbreak at the cost of living life?

I guess if shes paying for dinner I shud show her how to chanfe tyres etc, but I haves learned that being a femenist isnt being able to do what men can do, its about buying me dinner.

Im 29!! But I suspect I am also 20 in subjective years.

@Albatross your sexuality sounds very interesting, my mum told me that when you grow up you can fall in love with anyone even a man or an old lady and theres nothing you could do about it(I used to be afraid of old men after that incase I fell in love with them) I dont realy think it works like that personaly but I think its the best way to explain it to a ten year old
I know the pining, Devon. My girlfriend had to leave after 2 days thanks to her extended family raising hell over her missing Christmas with them. But before she left she said she loves me, so I'm over the moon :). Best of luck to you and your!
Shes crazy and complex and told me she loved me and didnt want to see me on the same day, the next day she changed her mind, I feel a bit mad :O

need to sharpen my mind up and get my confidence back up, she has the power to break me as a human being and mould me back into a slave, women with power are scary.

Is being too intense, maybes fredbill was right, I would be way too jelous and sad to let her go, looks like im in for rollercoaster, plz send morphine.

@cheraphy, that pining is hard yes? shes gona away for a week after four intense days, im not sure if the pining is the same this time, you think it could be a thing?
