so since im getting back into web deving for a bit, i decided to join daniweb and dani (ie the owner and writer of daniweb) has commented on four of my five posts across different sections. and i am a lowly member (i think like rank 900,000). so my question is... why doesnt twicker (thats the name of admin right?) ever interact with us?
I honestly am not sure. It's possible that he's quite busy, or that he sees himself as more of a provider of a service, or that he doesn't want to get involved in the community so that he can remain a neutral entity when conflicts arise.
There's a theory that twicker posts under a different screen name when he contributes so that people don't act differently around him. This is the one I like to subscribe to since it literally means he could be anyone of us >:)
@Computergeek01
That's an interesting hypothesis. That of course starts raising interesting questions as to who he might be, which may or may not be a good course of investigation to follow (I'm leaning toward not, because first off there isn't much evidence to support that point, and second even if there was there's still the issue of him using an alias for a good reason).
@ Albatross: Thank you, I can't take credit for it but I can't remember who first posted it either. I think the only one we can safely eliminate is Null since he contributes actual code to the site and seems to use the same account for both, or at least he did when he was a regular.
My question is, is twicker an actual programmer or is this site just a labor of love? I mean Allegro.cc is made by an admin that openly talks to the users, but he doesn't really care to program he just does the site due to the fan base size. Same may be true for twicker, could just keep the site going due to the fan base, and doesn't take part in it because he is doing other things that interest him until he decides to update this site.
@Superdude
twicker is the site admin here. He owns this website. He's quite a quiet admin, though. I think his account for the forum has under 100 posts.
