a) Check for viruses. Perhaps you have a virus that eats resources in the background.

b) Check for temperatures. If your laptop is overheating then it will run slower.

c) Maybe your laptop has an "economy" mode, that you activated, and now it runs slower so that it consumes less energy and increases battery life?

My laptop is always at high performance mode, it has one of those smart HP chargers so it only runs slower when charging (I don't have it plugged in all the time cuz it ruins bat). Computer operating temp is at 40 C or 50 C from TjMax (100 C). Performed full virus check using antivirus ESET NOD32 Antivirus 6 and Malwarebytes in normal and safe mode, no viruses.

I'm using the Custom Boot mode and disabled everything that is useless and takes up mem too

Did you tweak security settings, such as enabling Data Execution Prevention (DEP) for everything?

(Although in fairness this probably doesn't have a great impact on performance for modern computers.)

Ok, that was a bit of an overkill but sadly it did not work

Do you see any processes taking up a lot of RAM / CPU in taskmgr? If so, which ones?

All the best,

nope, only 1.5 to 3 GB RAM used out of 7.89 GB available usually, ESET Antivirus uses 100 MB ehich is the largest and SYStem at 95 MB, can't really shut them down cuz I need them

is it the games itself? i have an i5 that can play civ 5 up to wow, but cant play skyrim (i cried for days) at best graphics w/o going 5fps. it could be something like that

No, its not just the games, it even took 72 secs for task manager to open since the problem.

Oh, and just a question, is hibernating a good idea? Or will it make my computer performance slow after wake
