This morning I took the Java 7 OCA Certification exam.
30 minutes later I became a certified Java programmer.

I'm not sure what this means for me, but it has to be good, right?

EDIT: I took about an hour on the exam, the results were emailed 30 minutes later.

I also have a certification in SAS, for which I am significantly less knowledgeable in. They make these certification exams way too easy.

All the of the questions were either about syntax, knowing what the output would be, or remember which classes were which (e.g. checked vs unchecked exceptions). This demonstrates knowledge of the language itself, not of effectively programming in the language.

Ever wondered why your X doesn't work? Because someone paid $300 to get certified :p
