Job Summary & Responsibilities:

The Fund Controllers Technology team produces solutions to ensure that fund financial statements are complete, correct and accurate for distribution to clients, the business and to our regulators. The role is for a senior-level developer and thought leader within the team, developing state-of-the-art applications on our strategic platform as well as designing and extending the strategic architecture to improve our automation of existing and new business processes. The successful candidate will do hands-on development, work with the business to analyze their requirements, create projects to solve them, and manage developers to deliver the functionality required.
Desired Skills & Experience


Basic Qualifications:

6+ years Java development
4+ years database development (SQL, ideally with Sybase ASE or DB2)
Perl, Shell scripting: working knowledge
Strong problem solving and analytical skills Hands-on, demonstrates taking ownership of issues to ensure successful conclusion
Strong communication skills, comfortable working in multi-site team which welcomes and challenges new ideas
Experience of partnering clients to deliver benefit to the business

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience of working with financial statements is desirable, particularly in a large investment manager.
Practical experience in technical architecture on complex systems is preferred, along with proven ability to coach and mentor junior developers on software development best practices.
In-depth knowledge of database design, performance tuning, best practices an advantage
