Top Chicago based systematic trading firm is seeking an experience Linux Administrator, with a strong performance tuning and automation background.

We are seeking a Senior Linux Engineer to help support and expand our continually growing Linux environment.

To qualify for this role, you need to have serious Linux chops. When you realize you don't know something, you're hungry to learn it right now! You know the details about how various network protocols work, and know how to tune and troubleshoot network parameters. Ideally, you'd also have experience in an environment (like trading) that values research and extreme tuning with unique hardware and technical constraints.

In terms of responsibilities, here’s what you will be handling:

Performance tuning (squeezing out microseconds in the Race to Zero)
Automation and scripting
Collaborating with Software teams, IT and Trading
Testing new Linux distros
Researching new technologies (think: creative repurposing of hardware)
Maintaining required documentation
