POSITION SUMMARY:
The responsibility of the incumbent is to Design, implement and maintain software applications
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Design, implement and maintain software applications
2. Work with contacts from multiple departments on requirements, design, implementation, integration, testing, roll-out and maintenance.
3. Provide thorough documentation for assigned projects
4. Act as a Lead of certain projects
5. Track and report status of assigned tasks
KNOWLEDGE:
Required:
• Strong C++
• Strong OOD/OOP
• Strong Win32 SDK, MFC, ATL, COM, STL
• MSI installer, InstallShield or similar packaging tools
• XML
Preferable but not required:
• .NET development
• Web services
• Database development
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong design skills
• Follows best programming practices and produces high quality code.
• Provides accurate time estimates and complete assignments on schedule.
• Exhibits abilities to learn and apply latest technologies to current development environment.
• Very focused / self-driven, can work under little supervision in a standalone or team configuration
• Adheres to department policies and procedures (coding standards, etc…)
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once. New projects and legacy projects.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and ability to effectively discuss technical issues with non-technical audience
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent. MS preferred.
• 7 years of professional development experience using C++, MFC, ATL and COM.
• 2 years experience using installation tools (MSI, InstallShield, …)
