ARINC's headquarters in Annapolis, MD is seeking an inspired Software Engineer to join our core team that performs integration, development and maintenance of mission critical application programs and servers. This position is responsible for software development and enhancements for various Air to Ground critical support applications. The applications are utilized in multiple aviation communication services that are either owned and/or operated by ARINC. These services are utilized 24/7 in a highly available data network architecture.

The current development environment for the primary application is AIX 4.2. This system is scheduled to be migrated to either an AIX 5.XX or Linux platform.

Required Experience: All qualified candidates will posses (5) five years or more of related experience in AIX (UNIX), Linux and C/C++ development environments.
Solid writing skills to document application functionality and project development.
Strong communication skills to quantify software requirements from both internal and external customers.
The successful candidate will have experience working on development teams, be self-motivated and demonstrate a driven work ethic.

Desired Experience: The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate proficiency in VOIP (TCP/IP) technology and CISCO network architecture.
Data communications experience is highly desirable.

Education/Certification Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering
