As a senior c++ developer, you can expect to be a member of a startup working to make the web faster and more efficient.

You will have a great responsibility to increase the quality of the code of an existing large-scale open source software written in C++. You will do this by profiling the code under benchmark conditions and identifying opportunities for performance improvement as well as increasing energy-efficiency (for use on laptops and mobile devices).


In all cases, you will have aggressive daily and weekly targets to work against and you can expect to receive daily and weekly feedback about your performance. The regular feedback is used to help you improve immediately and to resolve blockers which may be slowing down your performance.

Must have:

8+ years of experience as a software engineer in C++
Experience with working on large code bases (millions of lines of code)
Passion for speed and optimizations, experience profiling code in various conditions
An excellent understanding of the web (inner workings of http, HTML, CSS, Javascript)
Good proficiency in the English language

Nice to have:

Low level understanding of apple eco-system core libraries (project build targets are macOS and iOS)
Experience working with WebKit
Demonstrated success as a problem solver
Comfortable “working virtually” with teammates around the world
