The IT team at BC Housing has been instrumental in delivering on significant leading edge technology solutions that are critical to the organization delivering on its mandate. As the organization grows, the IT team is expanding to continue to meet these critical demands.
BC Housing is looking for a key strategic and influential technology leader focused on supporting BC Housing’s Cloud and DevOps strategies. As a progressive public sector organization, BC Housing plans to implement a hybrid cloud environment with emphasis and priority on public cloud solutions. In parallel, BC Housing will implement automation technologies to support management of our technical and application infrastructure.
The Manager, Platform Services focuses on our application and database infrastructure, including long term strategies for taking advantage of cloud and application automation technologies and release management. This role also works closely with all managers and staff within IT, particularly the infrastructure and application development teams, to ensure solutions will integrate and meet all requirements. Also a motivator and consensus builder, this role needs to understand business expectations and provide significant leadership in order to implement solutions that will be scalable and robust.
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have at least 5+ years working with mission critical platforms, including:
-Experience working with Oracle and Microsoft-based enterprise technology
-Experience qualifying, researching, planning and designing Public Cloud and -On-premise platform solutions
-Experience leading DevOps engineering practices with emphasis on platform automation, CI/CD pipelines, container builds, deployments and orchestration
-Experience in release management practices, upholding and organization’s change management policy and standards
