Role
The Release Manager is responsible for the delivery and maintenance of our Fixed Income Trading platform.
The Release Manager will need to learn about technology assets of varying levels of complexity and business criticality, and will eventually become the Subject Matter Expert and escalation point for a subset of those applications
This Release Manager is also responsible for building new Support and Monitoring Tools.
The Release Manager will also be responsible for Builds, Code Management and Control as well as co-ordination with the various development teams.

Key areas of responsibility
The Release Manager will resolve incidents with the enterprise software platforms; will interact with developers and end users throughout the company; and will help maintain the enterprise environment.
Building support engineering procedures and improving how we onboard applications
Supporting critical enterprise software via incident handling and service requests
Key member of weekly rotation for incident handling
Improving existing support materials and processes
Improving supportability of existing software assets, and bringing them to higher supportability standards
Performing maintenance on critical production servers
Performing tasks on weekends and off business hours to cover support and system upgrade requirements


Qualifications / Experience
§ Experience with the development of large and complex client-server or thin-client applications.
§ Software development experience in the trading, brokerage, or financial services industries.
§ An ability to work as part of a small team with daily instruction from manager.
§ A minimum of 5 years C++ experience in a Microsoft Windows development environment, utilizing object oriented programming techniques. Visual C++ is preferred.
§ A minimum of 3 years of database design and development utilizing SQL and relational database techniques. Microsoft SQL Server is preferred.
§ Experience with Python.
§ Experience with concurrent programming in a multi-thread environment is preferred.
§ Both server side and user interface development experience is preferred.
§ Experience with windows sockets TCP/IP programming is preferred.
§ Requisite experience with software configuration management tools. CVS is preferred.
§ Experience with scripting languages (PERL) is preferred.
§ Experience with development for high performance and low latency message based trading applications.
§ Experience with both .net and .java
