The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) needs a C++ programmer to support research in the fields of genetics and bioinformatics
In this position you will be an integral part of a team of programmers, scientists and mathematicians working on cutting edge of human genome and bioinformatics research.
Note: This organization values innovative problem solving over generic coding skills. To be a good fit for this job, you must have excellent critical thinking and logic skills and excellent communication skills with which to explain your ideas, designs and solutions.
Requirements:
o. 9+ years experience coding OO software in C++ (Required)
o. Degree in Computer Science or related field (Required)
o. Experience with XSLT (Required)
o. Experience with SQL (Required)
o. Excellent communication skills (Required)
o. Advanced degree a plus
o. Previous experience in bioinformatics or biotech computing a plus
o. Previous experience in computational linguistics a plus
