iDirect are seeking a Principle Software Engineer to lead and drive forward the C++ based Back-End of their satellite communications platform.

A key role within the wider Development Team, the Principal Engineer’s responsibilities will include:

• Leading the development of C++ based Back-End components of iDirect’s NMS tools
• Acting as an SME for Back-End systems, liaising with colleagues across all levels and layers
• Having an input into overall solution architecture
• Mentoring colleagues and aiding their personal and technical development
• Playing a hands-on role with development projects

As such we are seeking talented, dedicated individuals who are excited by the latest developments in technology, who relish the opportunity to share ideas and knowledge. You will have:

• A proven track record of C++ development
• Experience of development in a Linux environment
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking
• Exposure to OOD
• Exposure to real-time, fault tolerant services
• Knowledge of automated testing

Experience or exposure to the following would be beneficial:

• Virtualization and cloud computing
• Agile/Scrum
• SQL
• Perl/Python
• Git and Jenkins
