Career in programming?

So I've been considering getting a career in computer programming. I was just curious what steps i need to take. I'm in high school so what classes should I take now? Four years of math and science right? What about English? In college what degrees do I need to get? I know you can get a degree in computer science or computer programming? Which would be better? If I want to make games for a career what kind of degree should I get?

For sure you will need a good maths grade (at least B) or higher,
choose either further maths(later on) or physics. You don't need english,
You schould choose computing NOT ict or computer science.
One programming langauge known to perfection such as: c++, java, python or delphi,

Good luck!
