Experience: 1-5 years post undergrad
Salary: £50,000-80,000 + competitive annual bonus
A leading quantitative trading firm is looking for a handful of high quality Software Engineers with 1-5 years’ commercial experience out of top level academia to join them.
This company is a hot-bed of talent comprised of computer scientists, mathematicians, infrastructure specialists and avid coders from many of the world’s leading universities and software companies all working together to overcome complex real world problems using state-of-the-art proprietary technology.
Several teams work in harmony spanning a broad body of work across large scale data capture and analytics, modelling and simulation, high performance grid technology, data visualisation, algorithm construction and optimisation, market feeds and ultra-fast data links, hardware configuration, application development and off the cuff trouble shooting and problem solving. It’s all built in house, there’s plenty of investment, the people are exceptional and it’s challenging but very fun.
Required experience:
• Any major language such as Java/C++/Python/C#
• UNIX/Linux experience, scripting
• Von Neumann architecture, data structures, concurrency
• Intermediate Mathematics esp. statistics, probability, algorithms
• Genuine background in technology and programming (multiple thousand coding hours)
• Ability to react well in a problem solving environment
• BSc/MSc/PhD Computer Science or numerate degree from a top institution
As a technology driven operation this company is not interested in your knowledge of the financial markets. This company is made up of and wants genuine technology enthusiasts, those who began coding from childhood and enjoy nothing more than working alongside really smart software engineers to remain on a steady learning curve.
