Description This role is in partnership between the Application Infrastructure (AI) department and a group in our Fixed Income department. The team uses a proprietary grid computing technology developed by AI to distribute various complex calculations across a cluster of a few thousand compute nodes. The job will involve development of the grid computing product itself for the team's needs, as well as work on computation engines that are distributed on the grid. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and commuinication skills; business knowledge is not required. The role is a good opportunity to work in a technically challenging environment on some large-scale problems. Ideally, the candidate should be motivated by an interest in technology itself as well as the application of technology.
Skills Required Strong C++; solid Computer Science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, etc.); good problem-solving ability; good communication skills; must be a self-starter.
Skills Desired Experience with multi-tier distributed applications design and development; experience in multi-threaded programming; good knowledge of XML; DB experience a plus; Unix/Linux experience a plus; experience in other languages (e.g., Java; C#; various scripting languages) a plus.
