How to make it work on my computer?

Ok I know yuour need a compiler to run the program C++, but how do i make it just work on my computer...Like if i write a program and want to test on one of my friend how do I make it work?

You can write the program in say Notepad then transfer to your friends computer to compile / debug etc then after it is running properly bring back the *.exe file and run it on your computer.
