how to learn programming fast for scoring marks?

I know this is the wrong question, because programming requires effort. The thing is, I'm having some problems in my university course- Computer programming- I think I'm performing poorly in it. I'm not reading from one book but from several books- one topic from one book and so on. And I do not really have enough spare time to read too much and simultaneously do hardcore programming practice. It's usually one thing or the other, or else other courses go down. I want to score good in this course which teaches mainly OOP and C++. Any tips for fast learning?
