antivirus software

i need to program an anti virus software .can u please tell me how i can go about doing it and what all i have to learn in order to do this . also , is c++ more ideal for this or java ? any help would be appreciated .thanks

If your looking at programming a "whole" antivirus software... You'd be better of googling it and finding background on how they are created first.
