Trying very hard to understand arrays

I am new to C++ and I was doing fine until we got to arrays. My textbook is horrible and now I am lost. Can someone please recommend a good tutorial on arrays, expecially two dimensional arrays and parallel arrays? As well, can someone please recommend a good book for beginner C++ programming? I am desperately trying to stay afloat in my class but with a horrible book and a horrible instructor...its not looking so good :(

This site has a nice beginner tutorial, as well as covering a couple of more advanced topics.
Horrible book? Horrible instructor?

Haha, Hard Book and Advanced Knowledgeable Instructor...
I had a class on C++ once that had a horrible book. I'm not even kidding, the examples had typos and wouldn't compile, etc... The book was dropped after that semester and for my second C++ course, the new book was great.

I'm just saying that it COULD happen...
You guys are great...the text is being dropped at the end of the semester which is 3 weeks away. Lots of help and even loads more of encouragement. There are actually people out there that are just learning to do code, that are actually quite knowledgable about other aspects of IT. I wonder if everyone that posts here has the same feedback from its members.

I for one will not be back.

Thanks firedraco, your link cleared alot of things up :)
