Is there a Better Framework than Qt to work?

Hi I'm in the theoritical research stage to launch a large scale project next semestre in C++ where I will need a framework for the UI

I have been pushed by others to the Qt as the best and most popular framework.

Is there a framework better than Qt in general or not?

For my project in specific
I will need a UI for the API ( in Linux probably ) where the user can create Entity-Relation diagrams like in VISIO as one of the functionalities. (backwards they will be translated to SQL queires but thats another stage, not of concern now )

So the framework sould support the ability to create graphic objects and bind them to buttons from button labels (vustom made images )
I'm sure it exists in Java, but in Qt or other frameworks?
