Bjarne Interview

This is not a technical question. I found this interview Bjarne allegedly gave to IEEE's Computer magazine on 1998.

First, does anyone know if this is this really true? If so, was he just making a joke or he really meant everything?

It's a well known fake. Bjarne addresses it on his site (which I don't have a link to at the moment)

They don't even try to hide it's a fake.

I also don't buy it - I've read other interviews of Bjarn and cannot profile this to be his responses.

I'm just curious why this link wasn't ordered to be taken down - Bjarne has a legal right to insist upon this as his identity is being used in a malicious manner on the internet.

He doesn't appear to care THAT much, but he did make one or two references to that "interview". Here's the link to his homepage, it's somewhere in the non-technical FAQ's.

@hanst99: thanks - I read his faq on his home page. I get why he isn't that offended by the hoax now - I get why he finds it hilarious.

An old event came to mind when reading his response - I remembered a prof once told me when I asked about some question relating to the headache involved in marking students papers, to which he replied. "I don't really struggle - all I do is stand with my back facing down a flight of stairs and throw all the papers over my head backwards. Those that land on the top stair get 90%, the one's on the 2nd stair get 80%, ... "

The prof found the responses of some students who were gullable enough to think this was true to be quite hilarious.
