Borland C++ Builder 3 & Windows 7

I bought this compiler back in 1998. Paid $275 for it, and never used it
much. Currently it is not installed on any of my computers. The book says
it is for Windows 95 & Windows NT. Is there any chance it would work in
Windows 7? Almost nothing else does. I am feeling I made a mistake installing W7 in its 64 bit model.

Borland C++ 3 was born on the 16-bit to 32-bit transition. Since then there was a version 4 and 5, both of which are out of date. The product line is no production or development. Borland C++ Builder 3 is no new that these. I'd say it's obsolete.

Even Watcom would be a better choice.

There are modern alternatives.

OK. I put in the CD, thinking I would install it to see if it would work, but Windows told me it was incompatible with the 64 bit environment. Problem solved.

This is why I have a hard time swallowing the cost of any proprietary software license.
