HFONT hFont = CreateFont(...);
SelectObject(hdc, hFont); // apply the font

// text out

DeleteObject(hFont); // delete when done

Also, have a look at using DrawText().

Couldn't get that to work.
Could you please give an example?

More details please.. what did not work? show what you've attemped and explain what is not working, provide error messages and any other details that may be relevant.
I just need to change the text from bold to normal, test it out
If you just want to change the font of a window or control you just send a valid font resource through a WM_SETFONT message to the control or window you want to change.

SendMessage(hControl,WM_SETFONT,hFont,TRUE);

could you give me an example of it?? im new to win32 apps
also could someone run my code for me and debug it? ive been staring at it for an hour and cant figure out why it wont compile, i just ran it,.... ugh!
nevermind, fixed that, dev c++ is sketchy on win 7 pro, still need to change the font type
heres a link to a screen shot of what i have so far
http://i.imgur.com/7wX0p.png
so what I need is for that bold text to be normal
