I am a junior in high school and I am starting to look at colleges to get a masters degree from and become a software engineer.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to major in? I've been told to major in Computer Science because it binds together a mix of Software and Hardware knowledge. I'm not sure though. So, I'm asking the experts (you guys). Lol.
Computer Science is generally broke down in most colleges with emphasis on a mix of hardware and software, software development, or hardware development.

A bachelor's degree suffices to become a software engineer. A master's degree could help put your application above the rest, but nothing substitutes practical work experience. That said, look for internships while in college. Any experience gained would be invaluable in starting your career.

Computer science or software engineering. Some colleges have a separate degree for software engineers, and some place "software engineering" as a branch of computer science. At my university, if you were taking "software engineering" you were actually enrolled in computer science.
