Output date format from number

Hi, I have an assignment to have the user input the date format into YYYYMMDD format, but, I need to output that format onto the screen in Actual Month, Year, Etc.. example: April 20, 1999.

I'm a need user to C++ and I hope I've made sense.

Don't post homework questions
Programmers are good at spotting homework questions; most of us have done them ourselves. Those questions are for you to work out, so that you will learn from the experience. It is OK to ask for hints, but not for entire solutions.

Thanks for nothing. Yes it a homework question. We have a few weeks to complete. I'm not asking for a complete solution, just a start..
