Hi, I am new to this site and was referred to this site by a friend.
Part of my college homework is to make a text based Texas Hold'em Poker game using C++.
Now I'm pretty much retarded when it comes to C++ so I hope to get as much help with this as i possibly can. I have little to no knowlege of how C++ works or what to do so if anyone can post up a tutorial on how i can make this game would be greatly appreciated.
any ACSII images that can be used is a bonus, so if you can add that it would help a lot too..
This isn't really the kind of assignment you'd get early in the course... which means either:
- You're in a course that's above your current level (like trying to take calculus before pre-algebra)
or
- You didn't pay attention at all in the class(es) you already took.
Either way I don't think you're likely to get the help you sound like you need.
Nobody here is going to do your homework for you, but if you make a genuine effort and post the code you can write on your own, we can help you get it working.
So start there. Try making it on your own. If you have specific questions about the process ask them. If you get compiler errors, or if the program just doesn't behave how you expect, post your code (and any errors) and we can help you through it.
oh in no way was i asking for someone to do the work for me :p i was simply asking if there was a tutorial someone knew about or could help provide... maybe a list of all the things i need to do.
as for the course itself, it is a video game design and development course and were just starting C++ and this is our second project... i am a graphic designer, not a programmer in any sense lol...
for what i can gather i will try and post up what i come up with and hopefully someone can help with it...
but if anyone knows of a basic tutorial to make this game would help
