if statement - not defined

I'm trying to use the if statement. As far as I am aware I am using it correctly, however I'm getting told

Error: Identifier "if" is undefined

Can someone shed some light on this?

Why don't you post your code. There's a lot of stuff you could be doing syntactically wrong... are you sure you didn't capitalize it?
