what do you expect from "start without debugging"?... do you expect the console window to stay open?... that didnt work for me since vs 6.0 (there it did work the last time i did try it^^)...

I'm not on my home computer at the moment with VC++ 2010 Express installed but you have to change the view from simplified to advanced OR you can go to tools->customize I believe and add it that way. I went through the same thing when I installed the VS2010 the other day.
