Why is virtual inheritance so named?

Hi,

I was wondering why virtual inheritance is so named. I expect to improve my understanding of it when I hear the reason for its name...

Thanks
Juan
For gentleguy, if I have not answered other questions' responses is because those answers are very far from the question - so I did not want to waste anybody's time...

When an answer is on target I am the first to thank the contribution

Anyway, let's get back to the current question please...
