C++ or maybe F#

Hello.

Not sure if the right subforum, but here goes...
I just recently started to learn C++ and reading about it i stumbled upon F#. As i'd like to learn a general purpose language, i wonder if i perhaps should switch to F# as it is supposedly better (from what i read in like two articles :P).
Can someone with exp weigh in on it ? As far as i can see C++ has better guides and community (super imorptant on both accounts), but F# is shiny.

C++ is a general purpose language, much more so than F#. F# is a Visual Studio/.NET dependent language, C++ has compilers for multiple platforms and OSes.
@FurryGuy,
with F# you can create apps for IOS.

An other approach to find the 'righ't language is to ask yourself "In which companies I would like work?". Find out which tools they are using to develop software and learn these tools and languages by heard! Your chances grow extremly if you can demonstrate your talents...
