C++ Primer 5th? Should I continues the book?

Hi there
This is the same question for high school student that keep asking their teacher why they learning math and when will they use it.

I'm in about 100 page and they talking about class, pointer and stuff. I understand all of it but I feel that I will crash at some point because there is no pratical at all. What I do is reading a ton of definition without applying it or at least write a simple program at all.

you will most likely forget what you learn from the book without writing code.

at least one practical example per title should help a lot memorize what you read.

I think I memorize a lot and the back up reason is because they try to reuse the same material again and again to make the reader remember.

They also told reader to read pointer from right to left at least(as I remember) 6 times.

But yeah, as you've said. In some point of my life i'll forget waht I've learnt.
