I have started reading a c++ book (c++ primer 5th edition, Lippman) and im a bit confused with the term STREAM. I tryed google and got many answers but Im still a bit confused. I know its a rather stupid question but you see, Im a appsolute c++ beginner and not a english speaker. It would be great if some1 could explain me the term like im a total idiot with a example if possible.

Think of a stream as an abstract concept for any medium that data goes through while passing to and from your program. It's meant to be a generic term.
