Getting a screen capture of my whole program

For my class we have to take a screenshot of the program and put it in a word document. How can I accomplish this?

On Windows?

Make sure your program has the keyboard focus, and press Alt+Prt Scr. That will take a 'snapshot' of your program.

Switch to your word document and Ctrl-V to paste the image.
