Questions about strange C++ ghost

This morning I woke up my computer which had not been turned off manually last night and found several (X8) run errors on my computer screen. Each error was a C++ error box that read;

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information."

Now I am not a C++ user. I am curious what casued the error and how did it pop up on my screen? Obviously it tried unsuccesfully to work several times. What should I be doing with this ghost application or error?

I'm thinking you should start by trying to find the file that caused the event.

There should have been a file name somewhere like the title bar. You might also check your event log to see what program caused the error.

Samuel Adams said the right, there must a log file, you should prepare a bootable live pendrive of any Linux Distro and boot in to your operating system and go check the log file and all errors and google it and try to resolve it
