A few coworkers and my self are considering Developing an alternative shell to the windows default. Only problem is none of us quite know where to start with developing our own GUI api.
If it's not to much trouble could some one please point us in the right direction...as in a book or group of books we should read before getting started?
We all understand the windows API and don't like it very much, so if that helps.
I post this here and not the windows programming bbs because I would prefer to forgo windows conventions as much as possible here.
