Displaying Editable Text in the cmd View?

Hello. I am wondering if it is possible to display editable text in the command prompt when the program is run. I know you can copy with the edit mark thing but I mean once text is typed, the user can put their cursor in between two characters and add or delete so as not to have to delete everything in front to get to it. If not then I'll just find a way around. Thank you!
