Review of Jumping into c++ Alex Allain?

I came across an advert for this book. Looking at the contents it seems to go from very basic to more advanced topics at a slow pace. I own C++ primer which is the gold standard text, but it moves pretty fast and is not written in an easy to follow way. In fact I'm not even sure this is for rank beginners like me. So before I splash more cash out, can anyone vouch for "Jumping into C++"?
Is it worth reading or will I be better off ploughing my way through C++ primer?
