Practicing Classes?

I'm having trouble understanding classes from the example I was given. So please give me something to understand them or explain them. To let you know what confused me the program used for examle said it found processor speed so I don't know if it used variables and just made up some numbers or if it was actually taking in data from my computer I got the code from www.cprogramming.com

The one from cprogramming is just an example - it's not really getting the processors speed.
