Binary file - menu of functions

First of all sorry for my bad English. I had to use dictionary to write this message. I can't figure out how to write a programme for maintaince of a binary file in c++. It is supposed to contain a menu of functions - output (write down the binary file), search (compare strings), edit (change the binary file), input to the end of the binary file (write behind the last existing character of the binary file). If somebody knows how to write it or how to begin I'd be very grateful.
