Windows 8 Compiler
Okay so I'm a beginner in a C Programming class, and I've been using DevC++ for the past few months and it's been fine for everything I need in class (even though I know it's really outdated). I was using Windows 7 but I recently updated to Windows 8 and now it reads "g++.exe has stopped working" when I attempt to compile and run. Are there any free or reasonably priced programs that do the same things as DevC++ that work with Windows 8? Thanks in advance for any replies

I was able to get visual studio professional through http://www.dreamspark.com with just a .edu email address for free.
