Co-ordinate system
Co-ordinate system

Hi guys,
Just a general question since I have been a doing some 2D programming.
Does anyone know why computers don't use the co-ordinate system we all got used to in math? For example origin(0,0) should be in bottom left.
But in computer graphing, origin (0,0) is in the top left.
What's the reason for this?
Thanks,
Mike

Because back in the day when a coordinate was a row and column for text-only displays, we, as we do today, wrote text starting in the top left and working our way down right.
