running cmake from terminal

What command do you type to start running cmake from the terminal in ubuntu 12.04?
Or, Would I have to locate cmake instead? (I installed the latest version of cmake from the ubuntu software centre)
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the command is probably cmake. :P

</unhelpful>
really? I'm like an ubuntu newbie so I find the usability quiet irritating

It only gets worse.

I did not have what'd you call a pleasant experience when I tried Ubuntu. Unless they really get their act together in terms of usability, I don't intend to ever pick it up again.
